Yessy

My name is Yessy! I am currently in my last year of doctorate of physical therapy school at Thomas Jefferson University. I graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a BA in Exercise Science degree and nominated student of the year for the Health and Science Department. I have been an athlete for quite some time with being skilled in Taekwondo, being a first degree black belt, Krav Maga, soccer, football, swimming, tennis, and dance. Having a background in sports, my interest in physical therapy started with my first interaction at an outpatient clinic due to my sister recovering from an ACL injury. I had the opportunity to witness her PT session and received insight into the work environment. When I saw the social interactions with others, the necessity for endurance, and the compassion needed for assisting patients I knew that Physical Therapy was the career I was destined for. My goal is having a beyond passion to aid children, athletes, and the elders in both English and Spanish. Physical Therapy is a way to show nurture, compassion, and kindness through the work of my hands.
